Franchise Business is all about Brand Recognition

When you find a right choice of Franchise Opportunities and buy that franchise business format, you can expect that the franchisor will supply you with training, marketing materials, and operating systems, as well as a manual for how to operate that franchise. This will include extensive management systems to help make your business venture a success.

The franchisor is not giving all this to you solely to help you succeed. If you don’t run the business according to the systems the franchisor has designed, your business will not match those of other franchisees. To maintain the company’s image and provide customers with expected products or services worldwide, each franchisee must run his or her business in the same way. Imagine how disappointed you would be as a customer who expects a certain type of hamburger prepared in a specific way when you walk into a McDonald’s and you don’t get what you expect.

That’s true for any type of business format franchise, whether you are buying fast food or looking to mail a box at a UPS Store, or having your hair removed at a Sona MedSpa. The name brand you see on the door is what you depend on to get the product or service you want. You don’t know the franchisee. You do know the brand.

Franchisees get lots of advantages for buying into the system, including the following:
- National advertising that helps bring in more customers
- Combined purchasing power that comes with being part of a large national - or even international - operation
- Proven marketing techniques that have worked for others
- Operational systems that include tools, controls, and procedures to help make a business a success
- Name-brand awareness

If the franchisee doesn’t offer the product or service in the way customers have come to expect from that brand name, it won’t only reflect badly on the franchisee, but also reflect poorly on the brand as a whole. The entire franchise is at risk when even one franchisee doesn’t live up to the expectations of a franchisor.
